How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.

Job description

PRIMARY

* Actively contributing to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive environment in the home. The goal is to ensure that young people experience emotional security, contentment, personal growth, and independence.

* Understand and be well-versed in the philosophy of supported accommodation and apply the regulations and guide in practice.

* Actively participate in encouraging young people to engage in recreational and social activities. Peniel First aims to promote a range of leisure activities that are constructive, engaging, and socially enriching for young people.

* Actively support young people towards achieving their goals set within their independent living plans.

* Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work. It's crucial to respect the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information related to young people and their situations.

YOUNG PEOPLE

* Build positive and respectful relationships with young people. Setting a positive example for other staff members.

* Promote and reinforce socially acceptable behaviour among young people.

* Offer guidance and mentorship to young people in matters related to their personal and social development and independence.

* Actively contributing to the safety of young people by maintaining boundaries over situations and ensuring their safety and well-being.

* Maintain open and effective communication to identify and address any challenges faced by young people and ensure that necessary resources are utilised to alleviate these issues.

* Be a listening ear and a trusted adult for young people in the accommodation.

STAFF GROUP

* Actively engaging in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge related to the role. It may include attending workshops, courses, or training sessions.

* Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings when they are relevant or necessary. Staff meetings are important for communication, collaboration, and decision-making.

* Take part in in-service training programs that are relevant to the role and help improve one's professional skills and knowledge.

* Play a role in the orientation and initial support of new staff members, helping them become acclimated to their roles and the organisation's culture.

* Support the creation of work schedules or rosters that optimise the allocation of staff resources while considering the needs of the young people and the staff.

ASSESSMENT, RECORDING AND REPORTING

* Utilise the organisation’s designated systems and tools for documenting and tracking the progress and development of young people.

* Create professional reports to provide valuable insights into the well-being and development of young people.

* Participate in and actively contribute to specific professional’s meetings, such as placement review meetings and pathway planning.

* Engage with other relevant professionals in the young person’s life.

RESOURCES

* Use the available resources within the home efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the young people in supported accommodation. It also includes being aware of additional resources provided by the organisation and those available in the broader community to enhance support provided.

* Encourage young people to maintain living areas in an orderly and clean way. In emergency situations, it may involve taking immediate action to address cleanliness issues in these areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

MANAGEMENT, ORGANISATION AND ADMINISTRATION

* Assess and monitor the quality of relationships among young people, between staff and young people, and among staff members. The goal is to identify areas for improvement and work towards enhancing these relationships.

* Step into the role and responsibilities of your seniors when they are not available. It involves taking on leadership and managerial duties as needed.

* Maintain comprehensive and accurate records where necessary, tracking progress toward independence.

The ideal candidate should have experience of working with children and young people, Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce, GCSE English and Maths, the ability to contribute to written reports and to make verbal contributions to reviews. They should be able to organise and lead recreational activities, to participate in a range of activities with enthusiasm.They must have a clean UK driving licence, adaptable with flexible working hours and available for sleep-in duties if required

We are looking for somoene who is willing to form positive working relationships with parents and outside agencies, has the ability to become an integral part of a team, has goof communication skills and a level of resilience. We are looking for someone who has the ability to always maintain professional standards and can support young people in their daily routines in a variety of settings
