We are recruiting for a Building Safety Levy Officer to join a Local Authority in Ealing's Building Control & Surveying Services team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in administering the new Building Safety Levy, helping to ensure compliance with legislation, accurate financial processes, and effective service delivery across the council.
About the Role
As a Building Safety Levy Officer, you will support the administration and collection of Building Safety Levy charges, ensuring that all processes are managed accurately, efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
✅ Assessing levy liability and chargeability for developments
✅ Issuing levy determinations, notices, invoices and payment certificates
✅ Monitoring, recording and reconciling payments
✅ Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
✅ Responding to enquiries from developers and stakeholders
✅ Supporting audit, compliance and reporting activities
✅ Working closely with Planning, Finance and Building Control teams to ensure effective service delivery
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Experience in an administrative or operational role, preferably within a local authority or public sector environment
Knowledge of financial processes including invoicing, payment tracking and reconciliation
Understanding of planning, building control or regulatory processes
Experience working within established procedures, guidance and compliance frameworks
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage data accurately and maintain detailed records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across different teamsEssential Qualifications
✔ GCSEs Grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
