The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are currently partnering with a well-established business to recruit an experienced HR Adviser to join their People team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional with a strong employee relations background and previous experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, logistics or construction environment.
This is a fast-paced, operational role where you will work closely with managers across the business to provide expert HR support, manage complex ER casework, and help drive a positive employee relations culture.
The Role
As HR Adviser, you will play a key role in supporting managers across a broad range of people matters while ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation. You will be confident operating in a busy industrial environment and capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. There is also a requirement to travel between sites in Glasgow, therefore a full drivers lisence will be required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a wide range of employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management, and investigations
* Provide practical and commercially focused HR advice to managers and supervisors
* Support managers in handling complex people issues in line with company policy and employment law
* Build effective working relationships across operational and site-based teams
* Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture
* Assist with policy implementation, organisational change, and continuous improvement projects
* Deliver coaching and training to managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice
* Maintain accurate HR records and support reporting requirements
Candidate Requirements
* Full drivers liscence
* Previous experience in an HR Adviser or generalist HR role with strong employee relations exposure
* Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, construction, or similar operational environment
* Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Experience supporting managers in a fast-paced, operational setting
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
* CIPD qualification or working towards qualification desirable
