How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Trainee Field Service Engineer

    Salary - £28,500 - during training, rising to £31,000 + Vehicle + Bonus + Benefits

    Location - Glasgow or Dunfermline

    Sims automatics is a well-established, family-owned business that has been trading for more than 50 years. The company has grown, through time, to become Scotland’s leading provider of entertainment, gaming, and barware solutions across the hospitality sector, including pubs, clubs and a host of entertainment venues.

    Sims Automatics is offering an exciting opportunity to join our experienced Field Service Team as a Trainee Field Service Engineer.

    Whether you're just starting out or ready for a new challenge, we’ll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

    Requirements

    * Strong communication and customer-facing skills

    * A full UK driving licence is essential

    * Ideally residing in one of these postcode areas: DD, EH, FK, G, KA, KY, ML, PA

    * Experience with electrical or electronic equipment is a bonus, but not required

    * Qualifications in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous

    About the Role:

    Working as part of our established 14-person Field Service Team, you'll be responsible for the repair and servicing of gaming, entertainment, and barware equipment at customer sites throughout Scotland.

    * Average 40 hours per week over an 8-week cycle

    * Includes alternative weekend shifts

    * Based from our Glasgow or Dunfermline depots

    * Company vehicle, tools, uniform, and full training provided
