The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Lead to lead the development of battery packs, battery modules and electrical enclosure systems for a range of advanced electrification applications. Working at the forefront of battery, power conversion and vehicle control technologies, you will take ownership of mechanical design activities, ensuring solutions are innovative, manufacturable and aligned with customer requirements.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and manufacturing partners, you will play a key role in delivering complete mechanical solutions, from initial concepts through to production-ready designs.
The Mechanical Design Lead will be responsible for:
* Leading all mechanical design activities across battery, power conversion and electrification projects.
* Driving the design and development of battery modules, battery packs and electrical enclosure systems.
* Leading the packaging of electrical and electronic components, connectors, harnesses and high-voltage interconnects into robust mechanical assemblies.
* Creating and reviewing 3D CAD models, component designs and manufacturing drawings.
* Working with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs for cost, quality and manufacturability.
* Managing component databases, BOMs and engineering documentation in line with company processes.
The Mechanical Design Lead will have:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
* Significant experience (10+ years) designing and packaging battery systems, electrical assemblies and mechanical structures within prototype and production environments.
* Experience integrating battery modules, battery packs, electrical components and LV/HV harnesses into complex assemblies.
* Strong experience producing manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation from 3D CAD models.
* Experience developing and maintaining electrical component libraries and CAD databases.
* Advanced CAD experience using SolidWorks, CATIA or Siemens NX.
* Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), GD&T and tolerance analysis.
