About the role and school
We are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest from September. This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role involves providing dedicated support to a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence and achieve their individual targets.
The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to deliver personalised support throughout the school day. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in promoting independence, encouraging engagement and helping to create a positive learning experience.
This 1:1 Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone with previous experience supporting children with special educational needs who is patient, proactive and passionate about making a positive difference in a child's education.
Job Responsibilities
Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs
Implement strategies outlined within the pupil's EHCP
Support learning, communication and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals
Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviewsQualifications/Experience
Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
Experience working within a primary school is advantageous
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
