How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HV Cables Lead for a major offshore wind project in the uk

    Responsibilities

    Provide technical leadership and advice on all relevant aspects of HV cable design for Onshore Export, Offshore Export, and Inter-Array Cables, as well as other interfacing packages.
    Prepare technical documents and papers for internal review.
    Develop Employer's Requirements and technical specifications.
    Manage subconsultants, ensuring HSSE requirements are incorporated into the designs and that quality standards are achieved.
    Review and critique cable FEED scope and deliverables.
    Support the project during the Detailed Design, Installation, and Commissioning phases.
    Contribute to design interfaces, including cable installation, cable rating analysis, and electrical system integration.
    Participate in technical discussions with consultants, suppliers, OEMs, installers, and other external stakeholders.
    Participate in project team meetings and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
    Identify opportunities to improve designs and propose alternative technical solutions to add value.

    Requirements

    Experience in Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA), cable protection, cable burial, routing, and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) installation.
    Understanding of cable rating calculations under different installation and operating conditions, and their impact on the overall design.
    Understanding of HV cable installation at HDD landfalls, offshore export routes, and offshore substations.
    Knowledge of cable system design across the full project lifecycle, from pre-FEED through FEED, detailed design, installation, and commissioning.
    Ability to carry out or participate in engineering optioneering studies to identify the most effective technical and commercial solutions
