How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lift Engineer

    Lift Callout Engineer, Lift Breakdown Engineer, Lift Repair, Lift Industry
    Kensington, London
    Basic Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
    Additional Earnings: Standby allowance, call-out payments, paid travel, paid overtime

    Marmon Lift Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Lift Callout Engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) to join a well-established and growing lift company covering London.
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that values its engineers and offers a dedicated call-out route covering approximately 20-30 units, excellent earning potential, ongoing investment in training, and a healthy work-life balance with a well-managed patch.

    Commutable from: Kensington, Notting Hill, Hackney, Brixton, Ealing, Wembley, Finsbury Park, Wood Green, Hammersmith, Harrow, Twickenham, and surrounding areas.

    Key Responsibilities of a Lift Engineer:

    Attend lift breakdowns and emergency call-outs across a dedicated portfolio of approximately 20-30 units.

    Diagnose faults efficiently and carry out repairs to restore lifts to service as quickly and safely as possible.
    Complete fault finding, component replacement, adjustments, and minor repairs across a variety of lift types.
    Record defects, manage parts requirements, and maintain accurate service documentation.
    Liaise professionally with customers, keeping them informed throughout the repair process.
    Work safely, ensuring compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and health & safety regulations.

    Requirements of a Lift Engineer:

    NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) - Essential
    Full UK driving licence - Essential
    Previous experience attending lift breakdowns, fault finding, and repairs - Essential
    Good working knowledge of a variety of lift manufacturers and control systems.
    Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work independently.
    Able to manage a dedicated London call-out patch efficiently.
    Live within a commutable distance of London.
