The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are currently recruiting for 2-3 Fitters Mates to join an established and highly regarded signage company based in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a career within the signage and installation industry.
Working alongside experienced Sign Fitters, you will assist with the installation of a wide range of signage at customer sites across the UK. The company operates nationwide, so the role will involve regular travel and staying away from home.
Previous signage experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential. The most important qualities are a good attitude, reliability, willingness to learn and being comfortable working as part of a team.
As a Fitters Mate, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting experienced Sign Fitters with the installation of signage across the UK.
Helping to load, unload and safely transport signage, tools and installation equipment.
Assisting with lifting, positioning and securing signage on site.
Supporting with the installation of illuminated and non-illuminated signage.
Preparing tools, fixings and materials required for installations.
Assisting with the removal of existing signage where required.
Keeping the work area clean, organised and safe.
Following instructions from the Lead Fitter and Installation Team.
Working safely and in accordance with site and company procedures.
Supporting the team with general installation and site duties.
Being prepared to work outdoors and at different customer locations.
Representing the company professionally when working on customer sites.The ideal candidate will be:
Practical and hands-on with a willingness to learn.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Comfortable working at height and on different types of sites.
Happy travelling throughout the UK and staying away from home.
Able to work effectively as part of a two-person or wider installation team.
Confident following instructions and health & safety procedures.
Professional and presentable when dealing with customers.
A full UK driving licence is essential.Previous experience in signage, construction, shopfitting, building, engineering, installation or another practical environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Due to the nationwide nature of the installation work, flexibility around start and finish times and overnight stays will be required.
