How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a major commercial project in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. This Site Manager role offers a long-term freelance contract of over a year, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of a project from the very beginning, overseeing everything from asbestos removal and enabling works through to groundworks, construction, and final fit-out.

    About the role of Site Manager

    As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle on a commercial development, ensuring all phases are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives, you'll play a key role in driving the programme from site setup through to completion.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in both commercial fit-out and main contracting environments.

    Responsibilities for Site Manager

    Manage the project from asbestos removal and enabling works through to final handover.
    Oversee and coordinate all groundworks, structural, and fit-out packages.
    Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements.
    Monitor health and safety performance and maintain site compliance at all times.
    Coordinate site logistics, labour, materials, and plant requirements.
    Conduct regular progress meetings with the project team and stakeholders.
    Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project.
    Drive programme performance and proactively resolve site issues.Requirements for Site Manager

    Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering commercial construction projects.
    Strong commercial fit-out experience.
    Previous experience working for a Main Contractor.
    Ability to manage projects through multiple phases of construction.
    SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
    Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    Strong understanding of health & safety and quality management processes.
    Ability to work independently and manage site teams effectively.The company is a well-established Main Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the commercial sector.
