We are recruiting, on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Alternative Provision in Mansfield, for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to start ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is energetic, resilient and committed to supporting children with additional needs through engaging physical education and positive relationship building.
You will work with pupils across KS1 to KS5, supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This will mostly be Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language and Complex Care needs. This role is ideal for someone who understands the power of sport in developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and emotional wellbeing.
The Role as a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Liaise with the Class Teacher and other professionals
* Build positive relationships with pupils through patience, consistency and encouragement.
* Support pupils with SEMH, Autism and other additional needs both in and out of the classroom.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through sport and physical activity.
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure every pupil can achieve their potential.
* Create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable learning environment where every child can succeed.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children or young people.
* Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly SEMH and Autism.
* Has a passion for sport, physical activity and helping young people develop.
* Is confident managing behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
* Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with pupils and colleagues.
* Is resilient, patient and committed to making a lasting impact.
* Holds relevant coaching, sports or education qualifications (desirable but not essential).
