How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HGV Technician (Days) – Scania Fleet Specialist

    Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per annum
    Location: Louth, Lincolnshire
    Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
    Shift Pattern: Continental – 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off
    Hours: 06:00am – 6:00pm, including a 1.5-hour unpaid break

    Overtime: Available and paid at 1.3x hourly rate

    Interaction Technical are working in partnership with a leading commercial vehicle maintenance provider to recruit an experienced HGV Technician (Days) / Scania Fleet Specialist to join their established workshop team.

    Overtime Earning Potential

    Based on a salary of £43,000 per annum, additional overtime could increase your annual earnings to approximately:

    5 hours' overtime per week: £45,500 per annum
    10 hours' overtime per week: £48,000 per annum
    15 hours' overtime per week: £50,500+ per annum
    The Role

    As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a predominantly Scania fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant legislation.

    Your duties will include:

    Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
    Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
    Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
    Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
    Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
    Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements
    Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems
    Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency
    Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime
    Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices
    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

    Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician – essential
    Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent – essential
    Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
    Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
    Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components
    Experience working with Scania vehicles – advantageous
    Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
    A full UK driving licence – essential
    A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing
    The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team
