The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Special Projects Team on a freelance basis, focusing on legacy schemes and high-profile remediation works.
This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the recovery and resolution of building safety issues in accordance with the Building Safety Regulations. The successful candidate will take the commercial lead across a portfolio of legacy projects, identifying and addressing defects and compliance matters to ensure safe outcomes and long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage cost control, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple legacy schemes
* Support remedial works and ensure financial oversight of corrective actions
* Work closely with legal and technical teams on adjudication and recovery matters
* Provide commercial leadership and risk management on all aspects of legacy project delivery
* Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulations and broader industry standards
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in legacy or defect-related construction projects
* Strong understanding of recovery processes and experience supporting adjudication or dispute resolution
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Self-motivated, organised, and confident working independently
* MRICS or equivalent (desirable, not essential)
