We're working with a well-established staircase manufacturer, expanding into curved staircases and high-end hardwood work, alongside their traditional range. Due to this growth into a higher-end market, they're looking for a Senior Technical Operator / Measurer to help lead this next chapter.
What You'll Be Doing, split role between:
Site Surveys & Design:
* Visiting residential and high-spec project sites across London and the Southeast
* Taking detailed measurements and designing staircases on-site, including curved and bespoke configurations
* Liaising directly with clients, builders, and site crews to ensure technical accuracy
* Producing designs and specifications to a premium standard, balancing client vision with engineering requirements
* Supporting and strengthening the measuring and technical team. Providing measuring backup and technical support.
Office-Based Technical & Sales Support:
* Selling high-end staircase and joinery work directly to customers
* Advising on design solutions for curved staircases, curved handrails, and bespoke hardwood details
* Managing technical specification and project coordination from enquiry through to delivery
What We're Looking For:
* Proven background in high-end, bespoke, or made-to-measure joinery, cabinet making, or staircase manufacture - production-line or standard-spec experience alone won't be enough
* Hands-on background - you've been on the tools and understand the craft at a premium finish standard
* Comfortable working to demanding tolerance and finish standards, with detail-focused, high-spec clients
* Curved staircases or curved handrail experience is a strong advantage - we're especially keen to hear from candidates with this background
* Track record on bespoke, one-off, or complex projects rather than repeat standard products
* Confident holding technical and design conversations with high-spec residential clients, architects, or interior designers
* Comfortable with technical specification and reading plans, ideally CAD
* Full UK driving licence, based within reasonable commute of Harlow
What's On Offer?
* Up to £60,000 depending on experience and background
* All required measuring equipment
* Full-time, permanent - Monday to Friday
* 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* Travel across London & the Southeast for site visits
A genuine opportunity to work for an established market leader - helping drive a product pivot into the high-end market. If you're ready to bring your craftsmanship and technical skill to a business investing in its future at the top end of the trade, we'd love to hear from you
