The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role within the Accounts team, working closely with Managers and Directors while managing a varied portfolio of clients and building strong, long-lasting relationships. This is a hands-on role that offers plenty of variety, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work while contributing to the continued success of the team.
You'll be responsible for preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, producing consolidated accounts for small and medium-sized groups, and completing corporation tax returns. You'll also prepare management accounts, review straightforward VAT returns and liaise directly with clients, becoming a trusted point of contact for their day-to-day accounting needs.
Alongside your client responsibilities, you'll support and mentor junior members of the team, helping to develop their technical knowledge and confidence. You'll also work closely with Managers on a range of technical assignments, including due diligence, business valuations and other ad-hoc advisory projects, giving you exposure beyond traditional accounts preparation and the opportunity to further develop your commercial and technical expertise.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
* A minimum of two years' UK accountancy practice experience.
* ACA or ACCA qualification, or be actively working towards qualification.
* Experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
* A proactive attitude with a genuine ambition to continue developing your career.
* Experience with Xero, with knowledge of IRIS, Sage or QuickBooks being advantageous.
