How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

At Howdens, we are looking for an experienced Regional Installations Manager to lead and support our installation teams across the North of the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a site-focused, commercially aware leader who enjoys managing people, building strong relationships, and making sure projects are delivered safely, smoothly, on time and to the highest standard.

You'll play a key role in the success of our Supply & Fit projects, acting as the main link between our Contract Installation Managers, Contract Design Coordinators, depots, regional contract teams, fitters, site teams and external stakeholders.

Whether you're currently working as a Regional Installation Manager, Installation Manager, Contracts Manager, Site Manager, Construction Manager, Fit-Out Manager or Senior Supervisor, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As a Regional Installations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a geographically spread team of Installation Managers and Contract Design Coordinators, ensuring installations across the North are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with business expectations.

You'll be responsible for:

Managing, motivating and developing Installation Managers and Contract Design Coordinators across the North of the UK.
Supporting the National Contracts Installation Manager with the successful delivery of contract installations.
Ensuring Supply & Fit projects are installed correctly, safely, on time and within agreed budgets.
Building strong working relationships with Regional Contract Managers, contract depots, hub teams, fitters, site managers, quantity surveyors and other key stakeholders.
Making sure sites run smoothly by supporting pre-start meetings, progress meetings, installation checks, quality audits and client handovers.
Ensuring your team completes reports, logs and site documentation accurately and on time.
Supporting teams to resolve installation, product, site or personnel issues quickly and professionally.
Leading by example to promote a strong, proactive health and safety culture across all sites.
Setting and monitoring KPIs, supporting performance and ensuring teams have the right training, guidance and support to succeed.
What we're looking for

We're keen to speak to experienced site, installation or construction professionals who have strong people management skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
You'll ideally have:
Experience working within construction, kitchen installations, fit-out, interiors, housebuilding, commercial projects or a similar site-based environment.
Experience managing or supporting installation teams, subcontractors or geographically spread teams.
Strong knowledge of site health and safety, including RAMS, inductions, site files and safe working practices.
The ability to read and work with CAD plans, technical drawings, M&E drawings and site information.
Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to work with people at all levels.
A customer-focused approach with strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
A positive, proactive and resilient approach, with the ability to stay calm and solutions-focused when challenges arise.
Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid at Work, Face Fit or construction management qualifications would be beneficial; where required, some qualifications may be obtained through the company within agreed timescales.
What we can offer you:

Competitive salary plus bonus scheme
Company car
Laptop and mobile phone
Excellent pension scheme with up to 12% employer contributions
25 days holiday, increasing with length of service
Staff discount on Howdens products
Share awards and prize draws
Career development opportunities within one of the UK's leading trade kitchen

Why Howdens

As the UK's number one trade kitchen supplier, Howdens continues to invest in its people, products and future growth. This is a great opportunity to join a market-leading business where your experience will make a real impact, supporting high-value contract installation projects and helping teams deliver excellent standards across the region.

You'll be joining a fast-paced, commercial and rewarding environment, with the support, stability and development opportunities that come with being part of an established and ambitious business.

About Howdens:
Howdens Joinery is a highly successful FTSE 100 business, with more than 900 depots nationwide and more than 11,000 staff. Last year our sales reached circa 2.3bn, and we continue to experience significant growth and success. Despite our scale, Howdens remains a local business with traditional values.
There is a strong entrepreneurial ethos and the opportunity to develop within a fast-paced and commercial environment. That, along with a competitive salary, development opportunities, and exciting rewards, are among the reasons why our people enjoy working for Howdens - and why we have been named one of the 10 Best Big Companies to Work For.

Howdens is founded on the principle of being Worthwhile for ALL concerned. We're working hard to ensure we provide an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. We will do everything we can to support you during your application. If you need us to make any adjustments to our recruitment process, please email (url removed) with the job title and location, and we will be happy to help you.

Please note that candidates applying for this role must have a valid right to work in the UK, we do not offer sponsorship of employment for any depot positions at this time. We appreciate your understanding.
