Operating across sectors including commercial offices, healthcare, education, and large-scale residential, projects typically range from £500k up to £20m+, requiring a collaborative and technically strong pre-construction team.
The Role:
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.
You will be responsible for pricing and securing drylining and interior packages, working closely with clients and the wider pre-construction team to deliver accurate, competitive tenders.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing detailed cost estimates for drywall, ceilings, SFS and associated packages
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements
* Producing take-offs and bills of quantities
* Engaging with supply chain and subcontractors for competitive pricing
* Attending tender meetings and contributing to bid strategy
* Providing value engineering and cost advice during pre-construction
* Supporting handover to delivery teams post-award
Essential experience:
* Proven experience as an Estimator within drylining, interiors, or related subcontracting
* Strong knowledge of drywall systems, suspended ceilings, and lightweight steel framing
* Experience working on commercial or large-scale residential projects
* Ability to price projects ranging from £500k to £10m+
* Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and buildability
* Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
Highly desirable (based on their work):
* Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors
* Exposure to complex, large-scale developments (offices, hospitals, etc.)
* Ability to provide pre-construction input and cost planning
Client’s key requirement:
* Experience with commercial shell & core design & build projects is highly preferred
(This aligns with their involvement in major commercial schemes and early-stage design input)
