Role OverviewThe Role: As a Creative Director (Social), you will be a visionary leader who thrives on pushing creative boundaries, mentoring top talent, and crafting breakthrough social content and social‑first campaigns. At GoSpooky, we don’t just follow trends. We build brands on social. You’ll live and breathe content, understand the pulse of social media culture, and know how to turn insights into powerful storytelling. Reporting directly to the Head of Content, you’ll be at the helm of our content team, guiding creatives to develop compelling, platform‑native content that resonates with audiences and consistently exceeds client expectations.
For this role you will lead a unit dedicated to creating platform‑native, fast, sharp, and culturally relevant content, tailored for social feeds and infused with Dutch humour and internet culture. You will manage around 8‑10 creatives.
What you’ll do- Lead and mentor a team of content creatives, ensuring high‑quality output that meets client and company goals.
- Oversee and shape content strategies, aligning campaigns with client objectives to drive engagement and impact.
- Stay ahead of social and pop culture trends, identifying opportunities to create innovative, social‑first content.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure seamless execution of ideas across various media platforms.
- Develop and present creative visions to clients, securing buy‑in and aligning stakeholders on strategic direction.
- Elevate GoSpooky’s creative approach by championing bold, experimental storytelling techniques.
- 8+ years of experience in a creative leadership role within a social or creative agency.
- Strong portfolio showcasing and leading successful high‑impact social media creative campaigns.
- Proven experience in developing social‑first, feed‑ready campaigns that are fast, culturally sharp, and leverage local Dutch humour and online social trends to engage audiences.
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and push teams to deliver impactful work.
- Prior experience managing a team of creatives.
- Strong understanding of social and pop culture trends to create relevant content.
- Ability to present ideas, secure buy‑in, and align teams and clients.
- Fluent in English & Dutch.
