We are delighted to announce the opportunity has opened to join the Alternative Heat team as Site Manager, overseeing and ultimately holding full responsibility on the delivery of specific projects across the Amsterdam region. Prompting and directing the sub-contractors & direct employees and communicating with internal departments along the project lifecycle, everything from commercial, design to Health & safety.

Within Alternative Heat, we provide a turnkey offering and have the individual departments to assist with everything from design, manufacturing & installation where the successful candidate will be responsible for prompting and directing the departments in completing tasks and ensuring successful milestones are achieved through the course of a project.

An individual who can hold ultimate responsibility in delivering a project and develop the site teams to sustain a safe environment and professional installation. We are looking for an individual who is a strong communicator, has commercial awareness, and can dissect programmes to communicate and direct a team.

Job Title: Site Manager
Location: European Data Centres
Hours: 7:00am – 6pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 4pm Friday
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
Responsible to: Operations Manager

• To manage and develop your site management team to ensure the delivery of a project in a timely manner.
• Liaise regularly with the client via online meetings and regular on-site discussions to ensure they are satisfied with current progress and the forecast of up-and-coming works.
• Ensure your managers & site teams are working as efficiently as possible and all high-level objectives have been set out for your management team to accomplish in target dates.
• Ensure all drawings that the site teams are working to are the correct revision.
• Liaise with the project in-house team and site teams ensuring all high-level templates are populated and set out for the installation teams to follow (i.e., Material trackers/programmes/lessons learnt).
• Ensure all plant and equipment are procured correctly, in line with the specification and client requirements.
• Throughout the project, track costs (material & labour) to ensure the project will be delivered as per original target spends, communicating with the commercial department regularly.
• Assess requirements for labour and sub-contractors to undertake various elements of installation work and the development/expansion of your team.
• Vet all sub-contractors to ensure they fulfil company requirements and are engaged appropriately via fixed price order or JCT contract. This will be assisted by the commercial team.
• Prepare a weekly project meeting with the wider internal Alt Heat team to ensure critical path elements are being actioned and addressed by the relevant departments.
• Provide accurate information on contract variation and monthly claims back through to the commercial team for their monthly valuations.
• Attend monthly meetings with the Operations Manager to discuss team performance and areas to develop the team as well as looking at job performance.
• Attend monthly meetings with the Operations Manager to review project performance.
• Ensure and assist with the preparation of O&M manuals upon completion of the project. Ensure the team has marked up all As-built drawings and compiled all associated certs.
• Ability to work in conjunction with the client to ensure Alt Heat and their site teams work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
• Ensure the tracking of project performance is tracked on a weekly basis via progress reporting back to the Client and higher-level management.

• Good Microsoft Office skills – to include Excel, Word, Projects, and Outlook.
• Relevant experience with Mechanical & Electrical Installations and Management within Data Market Sector.
• Ability to take ownership of their duties and a willingness to grow and learn within their team and the company.
• Demonstrate a good ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills both internally and externally with our clients.
• Punctual, Reliable and Trustworthy.
• Have managed multiple teams in your previous role for more than 5 years.
• Delivered projects to the value of 2M+.
• Full clean driving license.
