About the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer

What to expect of the Senior Mechanical Engineer position within Huisman?

What do we expect of you?

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you contribute to potential project innovations and you make a proactive contribution to the further development of our Engineering capabilities.

This means you will be responsible for:

• Modeling (FEM) and calculation of mechanical designs for heavy (offshore) systems;
• Making system, basic and detailed designs;
• Defining specifications for purchased parts;
• Designing with a focus on: material usage, dimensions/weight;
• Functionality lifetime and maintenance access;
• Performing detailed calculations to optimize designs.

• Proactive and familiar with new developments within your expertise;
• An excellent communicator;
• A team player, you enjoy working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and have the ability to work independently;
• Flexible and creative;
• Client oriented and focused;
• Practical, accurate and punctual;
• Living in the Enschede region (max. 50 km one way). Physical presence at the location Enschede is required.

You have:

• A Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the offshore/maritime sector or heavy steel construction.
• Good understanding of structural calculations.
• Great affinity with complex mechanical systems;
• The ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and know how to prioritize.

Some practical things we need you to have:

• An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
