Overview:

We are seeking a European Tax Manager to join our team!

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the tax function for the Mitel group entities located in the UK.
2. Manage the UK corporate tax compliance process in-house or via external service providers, for all UK entities, including review of all corporation tax returns prior to filing if via external service providers.
3. Maintain internal procedures and controls to manage the UK corporate tax compliance process.
4. Prepare cash tax forecasts and manage the tax payments process for all UK entities.
5. Prepare year-end tax packages for reporting to group tax for all UK entities.
6. Prepare tax provisions and accounting disclosure for UK statutory accounts for all UK entities.
7. Responsible for communication on all corporate tax matters with the UK tax authority, and other EU tax authorities as appropriate.
8. Co-ordinate treaty exemption claims for relief from withholding tax on royalties, interest, etc. And manage the application process.
9. Assist with transfer pricing and Country by Country (CbCR) notification and filing obligations.
10. Review the tax implications of any proposed intercompany financing/restructuring transactions.
11. Assist with the tax aspects of any international transactions/projects.
12. Liaise with external professional advisors for specialist tax advice when required.
13. Monitor relevant UK and international tax legislation developments, and update the internal tax compliance process as necessary.
14. Provide support to HR/Finance in respect of employment tax queries regarding treatment of expenses and benefits.

Requirements:

1. Qualified tax professional with in-house tax experience, preferably in a multinational enterprise.
2. Experience of transfer pricing and cross-border tax issues, including intercompany interest, royalties, dividends, and withholding tax.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, with both tax/finance and non-finance colleagues.
4. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently to complete projects, as well as within a team environment.
5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced and complex organisation.
