What does your day look like as a Chef de Partie?
As Chef de Partie, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience at Restaurant JAQ, right in the heart of Rotterdam.
Your day starts with preparing your section for lunch service, ensuring everything is perfectly in place before the first guests arrive. You’ll focus on creating fresh, flavorful à la carte dishes while maintaining the quality and consistency that JAQ is known for.
You’ll also support with preparations for our Meetings & Events guests, giving you variety and exposure to different service styles.
Your key responsibilities include:
Managing your assigned kitchen section independently during lunch service.
Preparing and presenting dishes according to Hilton quality standards.
Maintaining a full mise en place and managing daily stock for your section.
Supervising and guiding Demi Chefs de Partie and kitchen trainees.
Ensuring compliance with HACCP and all hygiene standards.
Supporting the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in menu development and kitchen innovation.
Promoting sustainability and minimizing waste.
Fostering a positive and collaborative team culture in the kitchen.
Working hours are usually between 11:00 and 19:00, and shifts are generally 8 hours.
Who are you?
You are a passionate and organized culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You have an eye for detail, take pride in presentation, and bring positive energy to every shift. You bring:
Previous experience as Chef de Partie (experience in lunch or à la carte service is a plus).
Strong culinary and organizational skills.
Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
A hands-on, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
Residency in or near Rotterdam.
The legal right to work in the Netherlands.
What do we offer?
A fulltime contract (38 hours per week)
Salary in salary scale V of the Horeca collective labor agreement.
25 paid holiday days per full year (on the basis of 38 hours per week)
Travel allowance according to the Hilton Rotterdam scheme, if you live further than 5km away from the hotel.
