The roleAs a Medior back-end developer, you will play an essential role in building and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code within a team of developers.
Key responsibilities- Architect, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, scalable and reliable Ruby code.
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Perform UI tests to optimize performance.
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications.
- Identify bottlenecks, bugs and devise solutions to these problems.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation, i.e. Automated testing.
- Follow emerging technologies.
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
- Architecting and integrating user-facing elements developed by front-end developers using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL or MySQL;
- Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Define concepts, models, and representations which are needed for the implementation.
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
- Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features.
- Gather and address technical and design requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, trends, and technologies.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
- Ability to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms.
- Stickler for high-quality code and clean architecture.
- Excellent analytical and time management skills.
- Comfortable working in an Agile way, and to self-manage tasks and workflow.
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM and Restful.
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience ideally with digital agencies or tech start-ups.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and relevant databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL).
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
