Who are we looking for?

The Technical Manager is responsible for the realization, maintenance, and optimization of dies, tools, and machinery for both new and existing production processes. The role combines leadership and coordination with a strong hands‑on presence on the shop floor.

The Technical Manager works closely with Toolmakers, Technical Operators, and Technicians, actively supporting them with technical challenges and, where necessary, hands‑on involvement in troubleshooting, tool installation, and improving machine performance.

In addition, the Technical Manager advises the Management Team on technical capabilities, process improvements, capacity planning–related topics, and investments, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, safety, and cost control.

The team currently consists of Technical Operators and Toolmakers and will be expanded in the future with Technicians.

What will you be doing?

Daily Management and Shop Floor Support: organize, plan, and coordinate daily activities within the Technical Department. Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and act as the first point of contact for technical issues. Support and, when required, work alongside Technical Operators during breakdowns, changeovers, setups, and optimizations. Monitor progress, quality, and safety of all technical activities. Take timely corrective actions in case of deviations in production, maintenance, or planning. Ensure efficient deployment of personnel, equipment, and machines.

Maintenance, Engineering, and Process Improvement: lead and continuously improve maintenance, engineering, and toolmaking processes. Optimize machine performance (OEE, breakdown reduction, reliability). Initiate, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance. Implement improvements to existing machines and tools together with the team. Coordinate maintenance and improvement projects and control associated budgets.

Technical Advisory and Collaboration: Advise Sales and Operations on technical feasibility, manufacturability, and cost implications. Prepare and substantiate investment proposals for machinery and tooling. Evaluate technical solutions proposed by suppliers. Act as a sparring partner for operators and engineers on technical matters.

Projects and Innovation: Lead and coordinate technical projects related to product innovation and process improvement. Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing of new machines and tools. Ensure proper transfer of knowledge and documentation to the shop floor. Periodically evaluate the machine park and initiate improvement actions.

Leadership and HR Responsibilities: Manage, coach, and develop Toolmakers and Technical Operators. Promote craftsmanship, competence development, and knowledge sharing within the team. Ensure correct implementation of HR policies, including absenteeism management. Conduct performance and appraisal interviews. Advise on training, promotion, compensation, and workforce planning.

Policy, Safety, and Reporting: Define and monitor departmental objectives and KPIs. Prepare operational budgets and provide input for investment plans. Ensure compliance with HSE, occupational health & safety (ARBO), and environmental policies. Analyze results and report to the Operations Director. Actively contribute to company‑wide improvement and change initiatives.
