Small Tanker Shipbroker

Riverlake, a leading tanker chartering brokerage firm is dedicated to providing sustainable transportation solutions for renewable, organic, bio-products, mineral oils, and chemicals.

Collaborating with all major industry players as well as smaller companies and operators, we organize barge transport to make our customers’ operations more impactful and environmentally friendly.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Small Tanker Broker to join our Rotterdam team.

Key responsibilities:

1. Source and negotiate barge transportation deals.
2. Assist brokers in cultivating and nurturing relationships with owners, charterers, and other stakeholders.
3. Support in the preparation and execution of charter parties and other contractual agreements.
4. Analyze and monitor market trends, and contribute to the creation of market reports.
5. Maintain regular communication with owners, charterers, and other industry contacts.
6. Support the back office in administrative tasks, including invoicing and analyzing demurrage claims.

Requirements:

1. Completed education in Logistics, Maritime studies, or related fields.
2. Preferred, but not mandatory, knowledge of barge transportation and logistics.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of German, Dutch or French is advantageous.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
