How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced leader to drive inclusive practice across the college, leading services that support learners with SEND, additional needs and other barriers to participation. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference, shape inclusive practice across the college and ensure every learner has the support, opportunities and confidence to thrive.

Director of Inclusion – Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for the college's inclusion agenda, embedding equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging across all campuses and curriculum areas.

• Lead and manage Additional Learning Support (ALS), SEND provision, safeguarding, wellbeing, learner support services, and related inclusion teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for learners.

• Develop and implement the college's Inclusion Strategy, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities, funding requirements, and best practice.

• Champion inclusive teaching, learning and assessment by working collaboratively with curriculum leaders to remove barriers to participation, achievement and progression.

• Ensure effective safeguarding arrangements are embedded across the college, promoting a strong culture of learner safety, wellbeing and positive mental health.

• Oversee high-quality support for learners with additional needs, ensuring timely interventions, effective use of resources, and excellent learner outcomes.

• Build strong partnerships with local authorities, employers, schools, universities, health services and external agencies to enhance opportunities and support for learners.

• Use data and performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of inclusion services, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with Ofsted, ESFA and other regulatory frameworks.

• Lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability and excellence.

Director of Inclusion – Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Significant leadership experience within further education, higher education, schools, or a similarly complex educational environment.

• Extensive knowledge of SEND, Additional Learning Support, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion legislation, and learner support services.

• A proven track record of leading strategic change and improving outcomes for diverse learner groups.

• Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of quality improvement, funding and regulatory requirements relating to inclusion and learner support.

• A passion for creating inclusive environments where every learner feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

• A recognised Teaching Qualification (level 6/7 PGCE equivalent)

• Degree (Level 6) or equivalent professional qualification

What We Offer:

💷 Salary: £60,170 - £65,582 per year (Dependant on skills, qualifications & experience)

🕰️ Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

✔️ Benefits

• Membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme

• 35 days paid annual leave, plus 8 paid bank holidays

• Paid College closure and wellbeing days, including a 2-week paid Christmas shutdown

• Access to Free On-Site Gyms at multiple campuses

• Lifestyle Discounts on retail, technology, travel and leisure

• Cycle-to-Work scheme to support sustainable commuting

• Ongoing professional development and leadership development opportunities

• Additional benefits including discounted meals, hair and beauty services, and exclusive offers on local attractions

Lead the college's vision for inclusion and help create an environment where every learner is supported to achieve, belong and succeed. Join Wiltshire College & University Centre and play a pivotal role in shaping an inclusive future for education.
