We are passionate about taking our service to those who need it most so the Rough Sleeper Outreach Recovery Worker role is crucial to making this happen.
Role Responsibility
You will manage a caseload of clients, supporting them to decide their goals around treatment and develop plans to achieve these. You will also work closely with our partner agencies, particularly around housing support for this particular client group who will be either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The role includes maintaining regular contact with your clients, offering advice, information and psycho-social interventions as well as providing assessments, risk management planning and working closely with our clinical staff around prescribing and other needs.
No day is the same in this role and an ability to communicate effectively with a range of clients and colleagues, an ability to manage different tasks and a commitment to Turning Point values are essential. You may have lived experience of substance misuse/mental health/homelessness (self or a significant other), come with experience supporting people in health and social care or just have a keen interest in supporting this group with transferable skills; if your values are right, we want to hear from you!
We offer a starting salary of £25,870 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £30,265 per year alongside 33 days’ paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 35 days alongside many other benefits.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll have a sound understanding of substance use and the challenges that this client group face, including the barriers to accessing, and engaging with, support and will be prepared to work hard to improve life quality through gaining trust, challenging stigma and advocating for your clients. Knowledge around harm reduction and the benefits of meeting people where they are would be advantageous and you will be organised and confident, working well both within a team and independently both with colleagues within our service and our partner agencies.
Mostly, you will be passionate about supporting people without judgement and will go the extra mile to do this!
