How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Do you have experience working with young people, schools, events, recruitment, or customer engagement? Or perhaps you've developed strong communication and relationship-building skills in an education, marketing, or customer-facing role and are looking for your next challenge.

Whether you're an experienced school liaison professional or looking to build on your existing skills, this is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking college.

At Wiltshire College & University Centre, you'll play a key role in delivering the College's student recruitment strategy. As an ambassador for WCUC, you will coordinate and deliver a wide range of outreach and engagement activities, ensuring prospective students and their support networks receive high-quality information, advice, and guidance to make informed decisions about their post-16 education.

By building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, careers advisers, and other key stakeholders, you'll help raise awareness of our provision, inspire future students, and position WCUC as the destination of choice for post-16 education. This is a rewarding role where your enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills will make a meaningful difference to individuals, schools, and communities across Wiltshire and beyond.

⚡ Make a move that truly pays off

If you're ready for a rewarding and impactful role where you can inspire future students, build meaningful partnerships, and help shape educational journeys across Wiltshire, we'd love to hear from you.
