About the Role
Apollogrid is the UK operating subsidiary of Rahvolt Group, a fast-growing leader in renewable energy specialising in premium solar PV systems and integrated energy storage solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Solar PV Structural Surveyor / Structural Engineer with strong experience in flat roofs to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be based close to our main offices in Chasington or Croydon.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive structural surveys on residential and commercial properties
* Assess roof structures, with particular focus on flat roofs, for solar PV suitability
* Perform snow and wind load calculations
* Design bespoke structural plans and recommendations for solar installations
* Interact professionally with homeowners and clients during surveys
* Ensure all surveys comply with current building regulations, MCS standards, and best practice
* Provide technical support to the installation teams
Requirements:
* Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying or relevant field
* Minimum 3 years experience in commercial and/or residential structural surveying/engineering in the UK
* Practical experience in surveying and assessing flat roofs for solar PV installations
* Ability to carry out snow and wind load calculations
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* RICS qualification or equivalent (desirable)
* Knowledge of renewable energy / solar PV (desirable)
