The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
An established care provider is looking for an Assistant Service Manager to join a supported living service in Dudley.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting a small team delivering person-centred care to adults with complex needs including profound learning disabilities and autism. The role combines operational leadership with direct support, ensuring high standards of care, safety and service delivery.
You will work closely with the Service Manager to lead and develop the team, promote positive outcomes for the people supported and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
The Role
As Assistant Service Manager, you will:

Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service

Lead and motivate a team of support staff
*
Ensure high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times
*
Support recruitment, supervision and development of staff
*
Maintain compliance with policies, procedures and safeguarding standards
*
Promote positive risk taking while ensuring safety
*
Step in to manage the service in the absence of the Service Manager
*
Participate in the on-call rota when required
This is a practical leadership role, where you will also support individuals directly when needed.

What We’re Looking For

Experience within health & social care

Previous experience as a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, Deputy or Assistant Manager

Working Pattern
Shifts may include:

7:00am – 2:30pm
*
2:00pm – 9:30pm / 10:00pm
Flexibility is required including weekends and bank holidays. No night shifts are required.
