The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

TARA Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Shropshire to recruit a Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a temporary position initially, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school setting. The school has a supportive leadership team, strong behaviour systems and a positive learning environment where staff are encouraged to develop and succeed.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during the short-term absence of teaching staff. Work will be set by the class teacher, and your role will be to ensure pupils remain engaged, follow instructions and complete the work provided.
The successful Cover Supervisor will work across a variety of subjects, maintain a calm and purposeful classroom environment, and support the wider school team when required. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants or anyone with experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
Requirements
To be considered for this Cover Supervisor position, you should have:

A minimum of GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, coaching, mentoring or youth work environment.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence leading groups and following school behaviour policies.

A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning.

An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
