We are looking for a leader who can motivate and develop others, introduce best practice, and drive continuous improvement across purchasing and stores.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of 3
Lead the procurement function across a busy manufacturing business
Manage the purchasing of raw materials, components, services and subcontracted work
Build strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating the best commercial agreements
Develop procurement strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery and supplier performance
Introduce and improve procurement processes, controls and best practice
Lead, coach and develop the purchasing and stores team
Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory supports operational requirements
Identify opportunities for dual sourcing, supplier rationalisation and cost reduction
Work closely with production, engineering and commercial teams to support customer projects
Ensure suppliers meet quality and compliance requirements
Produce regular procurement reports and performance data for senior management
About You
Previous procurement experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
A proven leader who can develop people, improve performance and build a positive team culture
Experience implementing new processes and raising standards across a procurement function
Confident working with ERP systems and procurement reporting
Able to influence stakeholders across all levels of the business
CIPS Level 5 or working towards it would be an advantage
