How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Buyer – Manufacturing - Cannock
    Brooklyn Recruitment currently have an exciting role available in the Cannock area for a Buyer within the manufacturing sector. This role would suit someone with purchasing / buying experience within a manufacturing environment, electrical manufacturing would be ideal but isn’t essential.
    This company have an excellent working environment with the building being light, bright and clean. You would be joining a 6 strong (growing) procurement team as a Buyer and a total workforce of around 200 but this company still has a family friendly feel to it, where everyone is known by name and you even get your birthday off!
    As a Buyer you will be:
    * Establishing relationships with and negotiating with suppliers.
    * Negotiating freight costs.
    * Adhering to all buying procedures.
    * Establishing and updating safety stock levels against demand.
    * Working with LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
    * Escalating any supplier quality issues with the NCR team.
    * Ensuring all supplier payment terms are in line with the company standards.
    * Negotiating once quotes are received to ensure the best deals.
    * Rejecting / negotiating any price increases from suppliers.
    * Working with suppliers to ensure they deliver on time and in full.
    * Producing supplier reports and categorising them.
    * Other duties as required.
    The working hours for this Senior Buyer’s role are excellent:
    Mon – Thurs 8am – 5.15pm
    Fri 8am – 12pm
