VGC are currently recruiting NSI 6–8 National Grid Gatemen for work on a project in North West London.

Requirements:

National Grid Persons qualification for substations
Valid CSCS Card
NSI 6-8 qualification
Previous experience working on National Grid sites. 
Duties:

Control entry and exit at the National Grid site.
Check and record workers, visitors, vehicles and deliveries.
Escort vehicles and contractors safely around the substation.
Act as a Banksman, guiding reversing, maneuvering and plant movements.
Follow National Grid safety procedures around high-voltage equipment, overhead lines, cranes, lorries and lifting operations.
Report unsafe acts, incidents or unauthorised access to the Site Supervisor or Authorised Person.
Maintain safe control of site access and vehicle movements.
Rates are negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
