Job Title: Commercial Lawyer (Interim)

Overview
Our customer within the energy and utilities sector is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its in-house legal team on an interim basis. This role will support the business across a broad range of commercial and infrastructure-led energy projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pragmatic, risk-based legal advice to various business units, particularly in relation to infrastructure development and commercial energy initiatives.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including energy services arrangements, private network agreements, waste heat offtake contracts and energy supply documentation.
- Provide guidance on complex supply and trading arrangements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), metering and data-related contracts, and evolving regulatory requirements impacting the energy market.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal risk is appropriately managed while enabling commercial objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor with strong commercial contracts experience, ideally gained in-house or within the energy, utilities, infrastructure or renewables sectors.
- Proven track record advising on complex commercial arrangements and project-based work.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and provide clear, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders.
