How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.

Job description

Housing Learning and Improvement Network
Location: Bristol office (Redfield) 3 days a week, with opportunities for home working, with occasional travel as required
Salary: From £38,000 PA (depending on experience)
Vacancy Type: Full time (35 hours)
The Senior Research and Insight Officer supports the delivery of consultancy, research, and advisory projects across housing, health, and social care.
Working closely with the Assistant Director: Commercial & Partnerships, the role undertakes research and analysis, coordinates stakeholder engagement, and contributes to high-quality reports, recommendations, and project outputs.
Role Purpose
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of housing, health and care services across the UK. The Housing LIN's work influences national policy and supports local authorities and housing providers to create homes and communities where people can live independently, thrive and receive the support they may need.
The successful postholder will play a key role in Housing LIN’s highly-valued consultancy and research team, supporting the delivery of housing, health, care and policy-related projects. In particular, age-friendly housing and specialist/supported homes for older people, long term supported housing for adults with care/support needs and transitional supported housing.
The role involves delivery of consultancy and advisory commissions combining project coordination, research, stakeholder engagement, and report writing to support the Housing LIN’s consultancy team.
Person Specification
Essential:
* 3-5 years working in the housing, health and/or social care sector
* Experience or knowledge of local government processes
* Experience or knowledge of specialist/older persons’ and supported housing sectors
* Experience working in strategy development, implementing service transformation and/or improvement
* Excellent research skills, including qualitative and quantitative research
* Experience of organising and confidently facilitating workshops, focus groups, consultation sessions, or stakeholder engagement activity
* Experience of carrying out literature or evidence reviews
* Ability to communicate complex research and information clearly to a range of audiences
* Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Excellent written communication skills, including experience of producing reports and briefing papers
* Ability to work on own initiative and work with others to meet objectives and deadlines on several projects
Desirable:
* An appropriate qualification to the role
* Experience of supporting or preparing tenders, proposals, expressions of interest or funding bids
* Experience of consultancy or advisory work
* Experience engaging with people with lived experience or using participatory approaches to engagement
* Familiarity with housing, health and care partnerships, including the role of housing providers, local authorities, health bodies, care providers and voluntary sector organisations
* A good understanding of quantitative research methods including proficiency in Excel and/or Power BI
* Experience of working in a small organisation
