The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of large water treatment works and enabling works across the UK. This role requires strong client-facing skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will lead civil design packages, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure high-quality, compliant design outputs. Familiarity with Civil 3D is essential to produce and review detailed design drawings and documentation. The role offers fully remote working across the UK and involves mentoring junior staff, managing project risks, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. This is a contract position for 6 months, with a focus on delivering technically robust and innovative civil engineering solutions within the water sector.
Skills:
Experience with large water treatment works and enabling works
Client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Proficient in Civil 3D for design and documentation
Strong civil engineering design and technical delivery experience
Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and design interfaces
Preparation of design calculations, reports, and construction-ready drawings
Knowledge of UK water industry standards and codes of practice
