The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Brown & Holmes is looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer to join its growing engineering team.
This role will involve working on a large-capacity Lagun 5-axis machining centre with a 4-metre bed, producing complex, high-quality components for demanding engineering sectors.
The role will include:
* Programming, setting and operating a 5-axis Lagun machining centre
* Working with Heidenhain controls
* Machining large, complex and high-value components
* Producing one-off and low-volume precision-engineered parts
* Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
* Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
* Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining high quality standards
* Working closely with engineering and production colleagues to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times
* Experience operating Lagun machinery, or similar large-capacity machining centres
* Proven experience machining larger components
* The ability to work confidently and independently on complex jobs
* A strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection methods
* A practical, quality-focused approach to problem-solving
