How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor – Tamworth – Civil Engineering – £40k to £60k + Package

    Are you looking for a role that offers genuine career progression, a varied workload and the opportunity to work on projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the environment?

    We are working with a well-established, privately owned civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Operating across sectors including flood alleviation, water, environmental improvement, coastal protection, public realm and infrastructure, they have built a strong order book through long-standing client relationships, framework agreements and repeat business.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based out of their Tamworth office. You’ll be involved in a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from local authority schemes through to major Environment Agency and water sector works, with project values typically ranging from £500k to £20m.

    Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and operational teams, your responsibilities will include subcontract procurement and management, cost reporting and forecasting, valuations, change management, compensation events, supply chain engagement and supporting projects through to final account. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of your own schemes while benefiting from the support and mentoring of an experienced commercial team.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects and a good understanding of NEC contracts.
