Location: Sheepwash Lane, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 1RA
Pay: £16.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 2:30pm (Closed on Bank Holidays)
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and serve meals that meet a variety of dietary and cultural requirements
* Ensure all food is produced on time, meets portion standards, and is attractively presented
* Create light bites, snacks, and refreshments tailored to service needs
* Prepare specialist meals (e.g., soft diets, allergen-free, diabetic, fortified meals) following guidance
* Work closely with staff to ensure meals align with individual care and support plans
Stock & Kitchen Management:
* Order food and supplies within budget, monitoring stock levels to minimise waste
* Maintain accurate records (stock rotation, temperature logs, due diligence checks)
* Check deliveries and ensure safe, compliant storage of all food items
Food Safety & Hygiene:
* Maintain exceptional cleanliness across all kitchen areas and equipment
* Follow Safer Food, Better Business guidelines and food hygiene legislation
* Carry out and record routine checks (temperatures, cleaning schedules, hazard reports)
* Ensure safe use of equipment and report faults promptly
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a care or community setting
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to cater for a range of dietary needs
* Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
* A caring and compassionate approach
