How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Customer Services Team Leader

    Worksop – starting salary c.£30,000

Working Monday to Sunday on a 4on/4off shift pattern: 09:30 – 20:00, the customer services team leader will work in a busy customs operation supporting the smooth movement of goods between the UK and EU.

This is a great opportunity for a people-focused team leader with customer service experience who wants to develop their career in a specialist and growing area of logistics and customs.

You’ll lead a team responsible for ensuring customer declarations are completed accurately and on time, helping customers navigate the customs process and making sure service levels, compliance and quality standards are consistently met.

Full training will be provided, so this role could suit an experienced customer service team leader looking to step into a customs-focused environment.

    Key responsibilities

Lead, organise and support the team to deliver daily customs-related customer service activities

Ensure customer declarations and associated administration are completed accurately and within required timescales

Respond to customer queries efficiently across email, portals and internal systems

Maintain compliance with customs procedures and current legislation

Monitor team performance, quality and service standards

Plan staffing across shifts, identifying issues early and escalating where needed

Coach and develop team members to build capability, confidence and performance

Promote a positive, quality-focused and customer-centric working culture

Oversee the end-to-end flow of activity to ensure work is completed in the right order and goods move without unnecessary delay

    About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Experience leading or supervising a team within a customer service environment

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced operation

Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and CRM-style platforms

A strong eye for detail and commitment to accuracy

The ability to coach, motivate and support others

A proactive approach to problem-solving and service delivery

Experience of customs processes, duty and VAT calculations would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be given.

    Benefits

    Starting salary of c.£30,000

Full training in customs procedures and end-to-end operational processes

28 days holiday (20 + 8), increasing by 1 day per year up to 25 days plus bank holidays

Pension: 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution

Free onsite parking, bus route access, stable business with a full order book and a supportive and friendly working environment

Opportunity to build a long-term career within a 24/7 global service operation

Travail Employment Group is operating as an employment agency in this instance
