Job Title: Health & Safety Co-Ordinator – Engineering
Location: Birkenhead, CH41
Salary: Up to £38,000
Hours: 08:30–17:00, Monday to Friday

Bolt Technical are recruiting for our client, a growing facilities management business supporting major national clients, for a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join their team.

Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll provide day-to-day Health & Safety coordination and administrative support across the business. This role has a key focus on compliance, documentation and supporting engineers and operational teams.

The role would suit someone with a background in engineering and facilities management, particularly someone who understands the working environment of refrigeration, air conditioning or similar engineering services and is comfortable managing RAMS documentation.

Key Responsibilities of a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator

• Support the Health & Safety Manager with the delivery and continuous improvement of Health & Safety standards.
• Provide Health & Safety support across national facilities management operations.
• Review, coordinate and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Ensure RAMS are completed, reviewed, approved and maintained appropriately.
• Support engineers and operational teams with RAMS and safe working documentation.
• Assist with Health & Safety audits, inspections and compliance activities.
• Monitor compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate Health & Safety records, including inspections, incident records, training records and compliance documentation.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations, including tracking corrective actions.
• Assist with Health & Safety inductions, briefings and training activities.
• Support subcontractor compliance and Health & Safety documentation.
• Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams regarding Health & Safety matters.
• Support the business with client, contractual and statutory Health & Safety requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of a positive Health & Safety culture.

Essential Requirements of Health & Safety Co-Ordinator

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent – essential.
• Full UK driving licence – essential.
• Previous Health & Safety experience, ideally within engineering, facilities management, refrigeration, air conditioning, construction or a similar environment.
• Engineering or FM background, with an understanding of operational engineering environments.
• Experience reviewing and managing RAMS documentation.
• Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with engineers, subcontractors, clients and management.
• Comfortable working predominantly from an office environment.
• Good Microsoft Office and digital administration skills.

• Salary up to £38,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
