NRL are looking for a P6 Planning Engineer who is fully conversant with Primavera P6 to join our clients team based in the North East. 

This is an exciting opportunitiy to work on exciting projects, across varied industries.

This role can be either a contract or permanent position and if contract happy to be paid outside IR35. 

Responsibilities 

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and logic‑linked programmes.
Identify and analyse the critical path, dependencies, and schedule float.
Update progress, actuals, remaining durations, and forecasted completion dates.
Produce regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance analysis.
Conduct earned value analysis and monitor cost/time performance indicators.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather data.
Support change management, including assessing delays and preparing impact/delay analyses.
Contribute to risk reviews, identifying schedule risks and mitigation strategies.
Develop resource‑loaded schedules and analyse workforce requirements.
Ensure scheduling processes align with contractual requirements and company standards.
Maintain accurate baseline schedules, version control, and P6 systems/configurations.
Requirements 

Proven experience as a Planning Engineer using Primavera P6.
Strong understanding of project planning principles, critical path analysis, and WBS structuring.
Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or related project environments.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, scope documents, and engineering data.
Strong analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency with Excel/Power BI (desirable).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
