How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for a number of exciting Mechanical Engineering Opportunities at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool, please see details below;
      
    Job Purpose:
    We are seeking talented mechanical engineering professionals to support the safe, reliable and compliant operation of a major chemical manufacturing site. Opportunities are available within the manufacturing plant as Mechanical Engineers and Reliability Engineers, as well as within the Capital Projects Team, supporting the delivery of site investment, asset replacement and improvement projects.
    These roles work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical, Planning, Stores, Workshop teams, Technical Authorities, specialist service providers and wider site functions to improve plant availability, strengthen asset integrity and deliver practical engineering solutions in a high-hazard manufacturing environment.
      
    Roles and Responsibilities:
    ◆ Mechanical Engineering Support: Provide technical mechanical engineering support to plant teams by troubleshooting equipment issues, specifying mechanical and pressure system repairs, supporting planned maintenance and outages, assessing engineering risks associated with plant modifications, and contributing to continuous improvement, safety, compliance and long-term asset integrity.
    ◆ Capital Project Delivery: Support capital projects through mechanical design, equipment specification, installation, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring solutions meet site engineering standards and deliver sustainable business benefits.
    ◆ Reliability Improvement: Lead reliability improvement initiatives by identifying poor-performing equipment, analysing failure trends and implementing practical actions to reduce repeat failures, improve maintenance effectiveness and increase plant availability.
    ◆ Asset Performance Optimisation: Apply reliability engineering techniques including root cause analysis, defect elimination, failure mode reviews, maintenance strategy optimisation, condition monitoring and asset performance analysis to support safe, compliant and cost-effective operations.
    ◆ Risk & Safety Management: Provide mechanical engineering input into safety reviews, risk assessments, safety committees and incident investigations. Assess plant modifications to help manage engineering risks linked to process technology, equipment, operating methods and maintenance activities.
    ◆ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with Production, Maintenance, Planning, Engineering and Technical teams to develop robust engineering solutions and support operational excellence across the site.
      
    Experience and Qualifications:

    Essential

    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management or another relevant engineering discipline.
    Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartered status.
    Minimum 5 years' experience within an Upper Tier COMAH manufacturing, chemical, process or similar high-hazard industrial environment.
    Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment, pressure systems, plant reliability, maintenance strategy optimisation and equipment failure analysis within a manufacturing or process plant setting.
    Experience supporting plant troubleshooting, planned maintenance events, outages, emergent work, safety reviews, risk assessments, incident investigations and engineering change assessments.
    Proven ability to analyse technical problems, identify root causes and implement corrective, preventative or improvement actions that deliver measurable business benefits.
    Experience using maintenance, inspection, failure history or condition monitoring data to identify improvement opportunities and support evidence-based decision making.
    Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work across Production, Maintenance, Planning, Engineering and Technical teams without direct line management authority. Desirable

    Experience delivering capital projects within a COMAH or chemical manufacturing environment.
    Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) or condition monitoring techniques.
    Knowledge of pressure systems regulations and mechanical integrity management.
    Chartered Membership of a relevant engineering institution.
