How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Wolviston Management Services Ltd are delighted to continue to partner with Tioxide as we recruit for an experienced Process Control Engineer to join the Site Engineering team at its Greatham manufacturing site.
      
    This is a key technical role, providing functional expertise and leadership in process control engineering. The successful candidate will support site performance and operational improvement through effective process control strategy, control system optimisation, technical standards, CAPEX support and continuous improvement activity.
      
    The role reports to the Process Automation Manager and will work closely with operations, process engineering, project teams, DCS programmers and wider site engineering colleagues.
      
    Job Purpose
    The Process Control Engineer will provide technical leadership in process control engineering across the Greatham site, supporting operational performance, control system reliability and continuous improvement.
      
    The role will help develop and manage the site process control strategy, establish best practice, support process control improvement activity and contribute to the specification and delivery of CAPEX projects, including DCS migration activity.
      
    Roles and Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    Establishing industry best practice for process control engineering across the site.
    Developing and managing the site process control strategy.
    Providing process control engineering expertise in line with site PSM standards.
    Improving site awareness, understanding and capability in measurement and process control.
    Supporting loop optimisation, tuning and process control training.
    Monitoring and reporting on process control performance and improvement progress.
    Providing technical advice to area teams to improve uptime, reliability and cost performance.
    Contributing to front-end scoping and specification for CAPEX projects.
    Providing technical support and supervision to DCS programmers engaged on CAPEX work.
    Supporting Process Engineers with process control improvements across continuous improvement and CAPEX activity.
    Developing site control standards based on relevant British Codes of Practice.
    Taking the client lead on specification, review and testing for DCS migration projects, including MOD300 to DeltaV.
    Providing breakdown support to control system users, including out-of-hours support where required.
    Working safely and in compliance with site cyber security, EHS, business conduct and Life Saving Rules. Experience and Qualifications
      
    Essential
    Candidates should have:

    A degree in engineering, advanced process control or an equivalent vocational qualification.
    A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a control system environment, preferably within a 24/7 chemical or process plant.
    Previous experience in DCS and PLC process automation.
    Knowledge of firewalls, network management and software programming languages.
    Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capability.
    The ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
    A strong focus on compliance, standards, safety and technical quality. Desirable
    Experience with the following would be advantageous:

    MOD300 DCS systems.
    DeltaV control systems.
    Siemens PLCs.
    Texas Instruments PLCs.
    PI Vision.
    DCS migration projects.
