How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for an experienced Construction Manager to join the Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool, please see details below:

    Job Purpose:
    The purpose of the Construction Manager is to lead all on-site construction activities associated with the delivery of the Tioxide capital investment plan. The role ensures that capital projects are executed in compliance with safety, statutory, environmental and engineering standards while maintaining effective control of construction schedules, contractor performance, quality, costs and site risks.

    The position acts as the site-based construction authority for the Capital Projects team, ensuring that engineering designs are translated into safe, efficient and high-quality installations that deliver business objectives and support the long-term growth, reliability and sustainability of the Greatham manufacturing site.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Lead the planning, coordination and safe execution of construction activities across capital projects, ensuring works are delivered efficiently in line with approved schedules, budgets and project requirements while developing suitable construction strategies and coordinating interfaces between operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors to minimise disruption to plant operations.
    Lead the technical selection, mobilisation and management of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring performance is effectively monitored against safety, quality, productivity and schedule requirements while maintaining compliance with Tioxide standards, site procedures and statutory legislation and driving a strong contractor safety culture through visible leadership and clear expectations.
    Champion a strong safety culture across all construction activities by ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, COMAH requirements, safe systems of work and company EHS standards, while leading risk assessments, method statement reviews, pre-job safety planning and incident investigation actions to ensure effective control of site risks.
    Work with Project Engineers and Project Controls to develop and manage detailed execution, shutdown and commissioning plans, monitoring schedule, cost, risk and resource performance while identifying and resolving construction issues, mitigating delivery risks and supporting stage-gate reviews and capital approval processes.
    Ensure construction activities are delivered to the required engineering specifications, standards and project quality requirements by verifying inspection and test plans, managing punch-list resolution, supporting mechanical completion and handover, and maintaining accurate project documentation and construction records.
    Build effective working relationships across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Capital Projects teams, coordinating plant access, shutdown requirements and commissioning activities while providing construction expertise during project development, design reviews and constructability assessments to support future capital investment and site infrastructure strategies.
    Drive continuous improvement in construction management by strengthening processes, standards, governance and contractor performance, while capturing and applying lessons learned across the capital portfolio to support consistent delivery and site best practice. Experience and Qualifications:
    Essential

    Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
    Significant experience delivering construction activities within chemical, petrochemical, heavy industrial, manufacturing or COMAH-regulated environments.
    Proven track record managing capital projects from construction planning through commissioning and handover.
    Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and contractor management requirements.
    Experience managing multi-disciplinary contractors and construction teams.
    Demonstrated capability in schedule management, risk management and budget control. Desirable

    Chartered Engineer, Chartered Construction Manager or equivalent professional accreditation.
    SMSTS or equivalent construction management qualification.
    Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or PMP).
    Experience delivering major shutdowns and brownfield capital projects.
    Knowledge of SAP PM, project controls and earned value management principles. Benefits
