How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Help keep a major manufacturing site running safely and reliably

Wolviston Management Services is proud to be working in partnership with TIOXIDE to recruit an Electrical & Instrument Technician for their Greatham site.

This is a hands-on maintenance role where you will support the safe, reliable operation of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment. You will complete planned and emergent work, support fault diagnosis, carry out testing and commissioning, and help identify improvements that enhance plant stability, uptime and quality.

You will work closely with the E&I Lead, E&I Supervisor and wider manufacturing teams in a complex process manufacturing environment.

    What you’ll be doing
    You will:

Complete planned and emergent electrical and instrumentation work to site standards.
Report any non-conformances that could affect safety, quality or equipment reliability.
Coordinate maintenance activity in line with safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit requirements.
Carry out functional and evaluation tests on specialist instrument and electrical systems.
Use systems such as MOD300, DeltaV and SAP to support fault diagnosis, reporting and maintenance records.
Test and commission new or modified electrical and instrumentation systems.
Respond effectively to planned and emergent I/E issues, selecting the right course of action and communicating clearly with supervisors.
Identify and recommend improvements to improve plant stability, uptime and quality.
Apply problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, to resolve operating and maintenance issues.
Provide clear handovers and maintain accurate electronic logs and records.
Support a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, teamwork and doing things right first time. We welcome applications from people who have

NVQ Level 3, or equivalent knowledge, in Instrument, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience maintaining electrical and/or instrumentation equipment in manufacturing, chemical, process, utilities or another industrial environment.
A good understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit-to-work processes.
Experience using maintenance systems, electronic logs or SAP, or the willingness to learn.
The ability to diagnose faults, solve problems and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, safety-focused approach.
A commitment to safe working, inclusion, continuous improvement and values-led behaviours. We know people gain skills in different ways. You do not need to meet every point above to apply. If this role interests you and you believe you could make a positive contribution, we would welcome your application.

    Why join TIOXIDE?
Join TIOXIDE to use your E&I skills in a technically varied environment where your work will directly support plant safety, reliability and performance. You will be part of an experienced site team and play a visible role in keeping a major manufacturing operation running effectively.

    Diversity and inclusion
TIOXIDE is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences, including people from groups currently under-represented in engineering and manufacturing roles.

TIOXIDE and Wolviston Management Services are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process
