We're working with a well-established and growing UK freight forwarder in Redditch, looking to add an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to their team.
This is a true end-to-end role, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of shipments and wants to broaden their skillset into air and road freight (full training provided).
The Opportunity
Manage start-to-finish sea freight imports & exports
Handle customs clearance and all related documentation
Liaise with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and suppliers
Arrange final delivery and UK transport
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently
Complete job costing and invoicing accurately
Gain exposure to air & road freight as part of a multimodal function
Build relationships through proactive, consultative customer contact
What They're Looking For
Minimum 2+ years' sea freight experience (import/export)
Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes
Experience with customs clearance
Confident managing shipments end-to-end
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Customer-focused with good communication skills
Air or road freight knowledge is a bonus (not essential)
