The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
This role sits at the centre of the technical claims operation. You’ll manage your own portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, using your engineering insight, analytical mindset, and problem solving instincts to guide each case from first report to resolution. Every claim is a puzzle, and you’re the one who pieces it together.
Working from home, you’ll blend technical authority with empathy and communication. You’ll translate complex structural issues into clear, confident explanations that help policyholders feel informed and supported. You’ll collaborate with engineers, surveyors, loss adjusters and contractors—always steering the process toward fair, timely and high quality outcomes.
Subsidence Claims Consultant – Key duties
Taking full responsibility for a portfolio of subsidence claims, from first notification to settlement
Diagnosing the cause of damage using engineering knowledge and evidence based assessment
Coordinating investigations, monitoring, repairs and mitigation strategies
Communicating clearly and compassionately with customers, ensuring they feel supported throughout
Making fair, balanced decisions that align with policy cover and technical best practice
Driving progress proactively to deliver timely, high quality outcomes

What you’ll be doing
Subsidence Claims Consultant – Key requirements
A recognised professional building qualification (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStructE, MCABE) or active progression toward one. Relevant experience will also be considered.
Strong technical knowledge of structural defects and subsidence related issues.
The ability to diagnose building damage remotely using supplied evidence.
Experience within the insurance industry and a solid understanding of liability considerations.
Confident negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain agreement from multiple stakeholders.
A problem solving mindset, able to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively.
High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
A flexible, self motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
