The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of highways and infrastructure schemes.

The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and commercial performance.
Projects will include:
- Highway improvement schemes
- Major junction improvements
- Road widening projects
- Drainage and infrastructure works
- Section 278 and local authority highway schemes
- Public realm and associated civils works
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from pre-construction through to final handover.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, engineers, and supply chain partners.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance, costs, and programme, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
- Produce and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Drive programme delivery while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering sector.
- Strong background delivering highways infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing junction improvements, drainage schemes, road widening, and associated civils works.
- Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness and programme management skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications are desirable.
- Full UK driving licence
